A Grand Teton National Park Proposal | Paul + Emma

Few things are as magical as a surprise proposal in the mountains, and Grand Teton National Park provides one of the most breathtaking backdrops you can imagine. For Paul and Emma, this stunning Wyoming landscape became the place where their forever story began.

The Plan

Paul drove all the way from Georgia with one big plan in mind, to surprise Emma with a proposal she’d never forget. Together, we plotted the perfect location: the Cascade Canyon Turnout, one of the park’s most scenic overlooks with sweeping views of the Teton Range.

The Surprise at Cascade Canyon Turnout

After a sweet dinner in town, Paul suggested they take a sunset drive through Grand Teton National Park. They pulled off at Cascade Canyon, where I was already set up pretending to take landscape photos. As the last light of day hit the peaks, Paul dropped to one knee and asked Emma the question to make her his forever.

Her reaction was pure joy and surprise, the kind of emotion that makes proposal photography so unforgettable. With the Tetons towering behind them, Emma said “yes!” and the two celebrated with the most romantic alpenglow illuminating behind them.

Thinking of planning your own Grand Teton National Park proposal? I’d love to help you pick the perfect location, craft a seamless plan, and capture the moment your partner says yes. I also photograph weddings and elopements in Grand Teton National Park, so whether you’re planning the surprise of a lifetime or an entire wedding day, I’d be honored to document it.
